My SMC 4900mAh saddle packs are tall like the Trakpower 4800 you asked about, but I think I have seen guys make an L-shaped banana plug for these batteries . Check the electrics setups thread located somewhere here in the Tamiya forum.

My SMC pack has wires coming out of the top of both packs and the rear of my Tateego body is raised and looks like wings since I do not use the undertray (I use JConcepts chassis film/tape).
