Not sure this is relavant here but a friend of mine who's a pretty high profile DJ these days tells a great story about that record.

He was out in Ibiza about 10 years ago and he was playing a grave yard shift DJ set about 6am. It was kind of dead, lots of wasted people slumped about everywhere. Bare in mind this is some underground House club, some geeza aproachs the booth with a bit of a weird outfit on including a massive gold chain aroud his neck with an 45 record with the middle pushed out threaded onto it. He was chatting some shit when my mate spotted the record and said is that MC Hammer.... give it here. In a moment of madness he chucked on Hammer Time and to this day he says its the best reaction from a record he;s ever had.
People that were long since asleep, past out, wasted and laying about suddenly burst into life jumping off stuff and generaly doing the running man.
