Personally I think the diff gears are fine, any tight spots are likely to be due to the centre pulley. If you put the xx4 centre gear in, you have to drop almost exactly 1 tooth on the pinion to keep the same ratio. If you start putting the diff pulleys on then you are going to need really small pinions.
If you run the xx4 centre pulley I can recomend 15*102 for a 10turn motor, then it's 1 tooth pinion per wind either way if you know what I mean?
Also I believe the Lesro pulleys are excellent but I've never ran one myself.
