The price increase is due to the country's economy relative to that of other major players (US $, Japan Jen, Euro etc.). If there was no price increase it would mean the distributors (or more likely the shops) would be running on reduced margins, not make any money, not pay their bills and disapear!

Then there would be no racing in this country!

Anyway, those price increases are not in line with the £ - $ exchange rate difference to this time last year .... it's actually well in favour of the UK driver.

You think they are steep increases, should see some of the price increases suppliers to my company have thrown at us ..... especially the Japanese stuff!!!
