Maybe depends on the carpet, ours is fairly grippy, mine was certainly driveable. Following the instructions in the manual for on road driving setup helps. I'm still the only person at our club with one, otherwise I would happily race it. It's not particuarly fast, but I love the way it handles, turns in really well, the geared diff can be a little annoying, so you need to take care on the throttle coming out of corners or the inside wheel spins up for fun.
