But then again, it would be nice to be able to prepare this before the EIR-race, just so we could try it out as well.

You need to use a shorter turnbuckle. I'm using a cut down losi one but the Pred rear toe-in one would be fine. I can't remember the length its set to off the top of my head but can let you know. Failing that just set it to have the normal range of travel you'd expect (enough uptravel for the chassis to deck out + a little more).
and also........ make sure the ball joint is popped on!
