by placing the hex on the outside is a risk of losing them, but no mods are needed to allow for the extra hex depth within b44 and rulux wheels.

you'r right there Si, if you fit the kit hex, like it says in the manual, then they will bind with rulux wheels, i'd never tried putting the washer first, i had the deeper b44 hex as spares, so just fitted them,
