just got one myself fancied trying my hand at spaying was quite impressed with it only got it cos its gravity feed rather than the suction feed i got with my compressor.
i used faskolor paint it came out ok i did thin it mind as ive been reading the cfx paintwork forum for some guidance and they all seem to thin createx/faskolor paints with either IPA (rubbing alcohol) or Johnsons Windex glasscleaner (which is mainly IPA anyway) a good replacment for this btw is Carplan screenwash £2.99 for 5ltrs at halfords....LOL
If you want a cheap air source u can buy an adapter to attach you air hose to a car tyre valve, run it off your spare wheel ! or if you realy feel adventurous get an old rim with tyre on it let the air out drill a hole in the rim to take another valve connect your air-line to 1 valve , connect the other vavle up to a 12v pump and away u go.
Airbrush and air source for less than £20 lets you try your hand without doin your dosh.
