Hi Ron

This is in the wrong place but this thread is random eough as it is so i supose you can get away with it.

The class most people race on this forum is 2wd and 4wd 1/10th off road buggy's.

The license grades go F1, F2, F3, F4, F5 if you are a new racer you are a F5 then you have to work your way up though the licenses until you are F1 which is the highest license grade. To Get a high license grade you must compete at nationals or and regional.

If you want to race in the UK most clubs and events require you have a BRCA license that is 14 pound a year this is for insurance (not if you break your car or break someone elses car if you crash into someone and they are hurt). If you want to race at national level you will have to enter soon closing date is in march (the national entry form can be found in the forum's race dates section made by vicky. Nationals are run over 2 days 2wd on saterday and 4wd on sunday. There are strict rules on these events all motors, battery's, need to be BRCA aproved/legal. Also on the rear axle of the car there is a tyre rule where you have to use one of two set tyres. Before you race your car must be scrutinered (can anyone spell that word) where your car is weighed, someone checks the equipment to make sure it is legal and the car is placed in a box to check it is not to wide. Once you have paced these checks you are given a hand out transponder then you take your car to the start line once the race before you has finished then you make your way up to the rostrom. Race then return your transponder to scrutanering then out to marshal.

Regionals are done in regions if you move over here you will be in one of 6(it think) regions these events are smaller insize you will need to find out which region you are in as diffrent regions run there eveents difrently i cant coment on much on these events. But the rules are not as strickt and you dont have to book months in advance you will be required to book in a few days before.

Ashley
