Brushed and brushless motors are a totally different kind of construction.

Brushless is the new technology. It is more efficient and allows you to run hotter motors than you ever could with brushed, with almost zero maintenance.

I don't know enough about the budget systems around for £150 but I would definitely recommend you get a sensored brushless system, not a sensorless. Sensored have better throttle control and are easier to run with the race legal motors (10.5 etc as you will see mentioned in forums).

Electric motors in 1/10th scale cars are a standard size so any system you buy for a TT01 can be transferred to your new car when you choose to upgrade.

To be honest a TT01 drivetrain can't handle a great deal of power without self destructing so you may be upgrading the chassis sooner than you think!
