Plasma all the way mate
Go for a LG pg6000/6010 I got the 50" for £720
delivered from Dixons online. Can't fault it.
plasma gives much better picture for movies games has a higher colour pallet and they look more natural, blacker blacks etc, i own both and plasma is in a different league running Hi Def material.
And the best thing, most people and shops try to push you to a LCD which means you get a better deal on a plasma.
check this site out. OH and dont bother going for full 1080p Hi Def you wont notice the difference unless your sitting 4 feet away watching a 50" Nothing is broadcast in full 1080p
