Thing is though chris when you left northern rock, they were still doing business and your job was not threatened. Now your in the motor trade and thats slowed down, however you still go to work every day and you still get paid. Have you personally seen any effect from this credit crunch....??? I haven't. Ive got the same quality of life now as always.
In 1994 nissan stopped production for 12 weeks. At that time they made primera and micra. People were resigned to the fact that they would be made redundant. However now they're still there... The volumes then were less than a quarter of that now. They currently make 5 models and have significantly reduced orders.
In the first 6 months of this financial year nissan made 650 million profit. However this was no where near the 950 million target. There was hell on as they were 300 million short.
Best industry to be in is not cars. Its energy. Electricity, oil and gas. Anything that people need to survive will always be there. And if people need it then they cant afford not to have it...
Look at shell and essos profits chris. They make northern rock look small time....
