If I was a kid again (I bloody wish!!) I would definately train to be a
Farrier.
We have 5 horses that need shoeing every 6 weeks (minimum) and even at 'mates rates' thats £350 and he will only be with us for 2-3 hours! ..... our farrier has to work 7 days a week such is the demand for good ones, he even manages a couple of evenings a week as Farrier on call at the local race track....
He used to race 1:8 onroad at a high level but reckons he cant afford to these days!!
