Wasn't Jim's problem the top (daughter) board in the RX hitting the bottom (main) board and shorting - resulting in it going flat out!!!
--- Fixed on later ones by a bit of foam between the boards
But I agree with what Dan says about trying stuff. I
ALWAYS run a cap now.
