I don't think the TIR pinions will work very well on the 501 anyway, as the pinion has to be right on the end of the motor shaft. I've been told CML do some long boss pinions (can't remember which make, probably RRP) so I'll get a 20 tooth one of those and see if it's any quieter. It'll certainly be useful if it works as I won't have to go changing the spur gear and re-calculating all my gear ratios! I was wondering if the spurs off my DF-03 would fit but I have a feeling they'll be far too small. I feel the need to find my spare DF-03 gears and do some sums, figure out the internal ratio of the DF-03, then work out from that and the spur/pinion sizes I was running, what the ratio on the 501 should be... I won't bother tonight though as it's nearly midnight, I've just done an 11 hour stint at work, and I've got work tomorrow morning as well.

PS Jimmy I noticed you have the same problem as I do re the slipper clutch in that the spring is bigger inside than the shaft it sits on so it sits crooked, I've just had a cunning plan for sorting that out, I'll try it tomorrow and see if it works, if it does you lot on here will be the first to know
