How can you invade something that does not belong to anyone, nobody owns oil/gas until it is extracted from the ground, a company such as shell/ bp etc will come along and put forward a case to prove they have the money/ capabilities to extract the oil, when they get first oil onto the deck is when they start to pay a tax to the local government, the amount depends on regions but lets just say its billions a year.
If you were in iraq now, would you prefer a group of villagers pulling oil out of the desert or a respectful oil company who work safely and produce quality goods. The truth of the matter is that right now, there are next to no oil companies that will touch iraq because it is too volatile and they would have to pay extortionate rates to get engineers out there. I know I wouldn’t go for less than 300k tax free and even then it would be a last resort.
Please get your facts straight fabs, its called business and the way of the world, on a side note, do you feel the french have invaded the uk because Total have a huge presence in the north sea and centrica own british gas to name just 2?
