Well, generally in the world of engineering, "shelved" and "scrapped" are synonymous, in my experience. Things that sit on a shelf become obsolete, or just plain forgotten. I've got a 1/10 pan car that was shelved, now it may as well be scrapped because it's antiquated by that new Calandra car. May of course not be the case with the S500, but the chance is there, if it is shelved for too long. I hope they get it off the shelf asap
