I understand Tamiya recently released a "graphite" version of the Durga chassis. Its not carbon fiber, rather the carbon reinforced plastic that Associated and Losi use in the B4 and old BK2, xxx4, xx4 etc.
I don't know if its better/worse than the stock composite chassis, but I thought it would make a neat car if you got the 37t WCE 501 diffs, slipper clutch or the new double slipper, stock or graphite chassis, TRF shocks, 501x graphite arms (if they are deemed better), and the stock 501 universals (I am under the impression the Durga comes stock with dog-bones?), and if you want--some Lunsford turnbuckles or the new (expensive) blue ti Tamiya turnbuckles. You would have a premium Tamiya tub-chassis car. You'd have spent a good deal of money, but it would be an interesting alternative to a flat carbon car--if you prefer the plastic/composite tub chassis.
Also, I see that Tamiya released some blue alloy parts for the Durga--so if your wallet wasn't light enough already you could throw those pieces on.
To the OP--I wouldn't say the Durga with a few hop-ups is a better car, the 501x is an insanely impressive piece, its just another way to go.
