Regarding my efforts in 4wd at the Nationals you are all correct, I did win the B-final.
My goal for the competition was to get an A-final spot and until the last heat of the last round by round qualifier I was still 10th but in the end I qualified 12th.
Considering the circumstances I am very satisfied with the end result anyway, I had 2 packs of training with the car on Friday, then we raced 2wd on Saturday and after the 2wd I had to wrench the Atomized B44 into shape practically all night before the qualifying started on Sunday. About an hour track side in the car was all the rest I got before the 4wd event on Sunday...
The car performed really excellent. To cope with the hand out tyres (Red IFMAR studs) and the wet and really really bumpy astro track we went from pink to yellow springs in the rear and also added 2 washers to the inner camber link for a total of 4. That locked the rear in much better. Oil was 30wt in the rear with blue pistons and in the front I ran 42,5wt with orange pistons and blue springs.
Ride height was just a tiny bit below level in the rear with a flat chassis.
Being new to the car I have learned now that my ackermann setting was way off and that my steering assembly seem to bind a bit and almost lock up at the ends. Getting that fixed together with more race time sith the brilliant handling car will hopefully improve my results going forward.
Would like to thank BBQ and his pit bitch ;-) Nille together with Thomas for helping me out during the 4wd event. Thanks guys!!
