If your muffler gasket goes, dent/broken muffler, main needle rotates, lost 2nd gear etc... temperature may be affected. You could then at least adjust it at the next pit stop in order to finish the race.
For practise it would be great, especially if you don't have a mechanic.

i run 200mm and 235 and know that in a long final the temp goes up as the chasis heat soaks and gets to a point where it cannot disipate heat as much, not tried 8th but have just got a car to run so ill try it
