The 0.5 rear hubs was prototypes from TRF, but you could use Rayspeed 0.5 hubs for yokomo car, they are available but may-be difficult to find !
Hupo use 6.5 motor with 23 tooth pinion and 86 tooth spur gear ! (around 8.5 gear ratio  )
The slipper plate from the Losi looks to fit a bigger diameter than the original TRF and fit perfectly the Losi pad  |

I would REALLY like those hubs to use on some low traction tracks here. As you said : the Yok hubs aren't easy to find.
