-The driveshafts are different, too. They should be ok for mild motors, though. I bet that they can handle the same motors as the speedo.
-The screws were Philips screws in the original ZX-5 as well, but I would recommend to replace them with hex screws.
-I don't really see the need for an aluminum shock tower mount. The new design is much sturdier than the original Lazer-issue.
Conclusion: Get some proper tyres, the hex screws and maybe the better shocks, and you should be happy about the Lazer. If you intend to run a hotter motor, you might be better off buying a used racing model.
