It's not an idea - it's the way it is.
There is no such thing as a regional boundary, not in a geographic sense.
If a club from the south coast asked the NE consortium to hold a regional, and it was accepted, then it could hold it.
This is obviously an extreme example, and would never happen in reality - but my point is that it's up to the regional committee to decide which applications to accept - it matters not where they are from.
It's also worth pointing out that a club can host meetings for more than one region. That would be quite important in the unlikely event of a region split, as the clubs from both sides of the split could still hold meetings for both sides.
There is a massive amount of stuff in this thread & 'Jim's' thread that is highly illogical (I sound like Mr Spock - sorry) or factually incorrect. I have been very close to deleting some of it but have not done so - this is only oOple after all!
