Well for me i work shifts and i cant get there every week. I enjoy club racing just as much as regionals and try to get there every week.

At present my shifts mean that i miss 2 nights out of every 8 and 2 nights i cant get there til half 7. The other 4 nights i can attend.

The tables dont put me off racing at all. (a bit exercise never hurt anyone) As far as touring cars vs buggies etc, I dont mind either way.

However one thing i have noticed from doing regionals and nationals. Alot of other clubs race on tracks which have alot of grip. At regionals there are always alot of carpet down and some clubs such as worksop have a grippy surface to start with before they lay carpet. I think adding alot of grip ie carpet would allow everyone to improve their skills for future regional events.

A suggestion for a better night would be to have a seperate heat for any begginers that turn up. There are alot of different levels of drivers at jarrow and although people might get lapped 3 or 4 times per race this does not pose a problem.
However sometimes when begginer drivers are present and they are getting lapped 8 or 9 times a race, or are wandering down the track the wrong way this frustrates other drivers who are trying to put in good times.

Also 8 and 10 car finals have caused mayhem in the past as the track is often tight and not enough marshalls have been present to support this.

However all in all I am very happy with the way Jarrow is run and appreciate all the hard work from the commitee all year round...

neil...
