I know they have just released their new top of the range motor, labelled 'Vortex Race 2008', maybe this has a fan in ? Does the BRCA description say if it for this newer one ?
Mine is basically a late issue of the 2007 motor, where early ones seemed to have a fan and later ones not.
here is a pic of my 5.5 without fan (well except the one I added to blow on it !
). Sorry about the poor photo but you can see the bare shaft inside. I also attatched a pic of the new 2008 motor.
