at last sundays club meet I started to play around with the slipper setting on my b44.

this involves inserting a 2mm allen key into the slipper retaining bolt, and rotating the axles. a very clever system.

time was running out before the next round, so I rushed to get the car onto the track to test the slipper.

I couldn't quite work out why the bodyshell wouldn't seat with the velcro properly, but I ignored that and put the car down. full throttle, noise, no movement....!

yes, i'd left the allen key in. thankfully the slipper stopped any damage to the top deck or electrics. NOOB MISTAKE.

another one: back when I was 14, my local club used to race at my school hall. I'd charge all my cells up (yuasa 1700s'!!!) and carry them in a tool box. I usually got away with it, but this time I had a hacksaw packed in next to them. of course, they shorted on the hacksaw. cue 2 sets of melted cells, a plastic tool box with a hole in it, and a very depressed teenager.
