John, I agree that starting further back may help a bit but think doing 20 laps just on the straight is killer enough. A role of carpet or more astro really would solve all.
And I can't help but feel if the straight was covered and if more track markings were used the track would be more than good enough to hold a regional on it. (please note this is only an opinion and not an offical word, last time I said this there were rumours going around that the regional was being held on it
