I read the other day that the Daily Mail is short of columnists - your CV seems good!

This is just the sort of mis-informed b******s that you accuse the single mums and moronic fathers of. We have one of the lowest tax rates in Europe, and yet we have the highest rates of teenage pregnancy. We also have one of the least supportive Social Security system in Europe, and yet one of the highest rates of crime.

Of the almost £500bn a year the Government gets in tax, less than £90bn goes on Social Security. More goes to the NHS. Indeed, more of your taxes go to companies operating services under the the Private Finance Initiative than goes to single mums. If you really want to get 'Daily Mail' about something, go ape about the PFI. Also, go ape about the £30bn-odd HMG has spent on failed IT projects over the last few years.

If you want to be rightly indignant, there is much more waste of our taxes on things other than large families and single mums, it's just that you have to do a bit more work than watch Sky and read the Daily Mail. And, you have to vote and do something to change the situation. If that's too hard, there's always emigration...

Give it a rest; its not big, its not clever, and its not right.
