OK here we go! Sunday...
Steve Andrews along with sidekick Alex finished the four spurs and the gate post. Steve kindly finished fitting the two gates after we left and messed about with them as he said they can be fiddly.
The hand rail around the back of race control was completed up to the steps of the rostrum, although we need to make up a support for the middle of the long arris rail as there is a lot of flex. This will need a metal base for the post to sit on as it will be on the concrete.
Roger and I fitted the six boards to the front of the rostrum and left them full height. This was relatively quick and easy apart from finding the odd double thickness piece of scaffolding that was particularly tough!
Then we were not sure what to do at the top so between us, we came up with a simple idea that saw us box in the upper hand rail! This needs a little tidying up with a sander and maybe the fitting of three full length CLS runs at the back to make it very neat and tidy, with the option of sheeting the side that the drivers stand.
With the people we had over the two days and the weather forecast for Sunday, we didnt do any painting so the seat and all panels on the rostrum require a good session with a roller and paint brush.
DC has said he will source the paint

for all the buildings and he wants to fill the gaps and screw heads on the rostrum before the final coat goes on. We can then fit the decal, which we now need to check for size against the blank canvas that is the rather large clad rostrum!
From the pics, you can see that some of the sheets had one and some two coats. DC put a quick coat on the results board but we were running out of time. It may be easier to remove the board for the second coat. Again, DC will source the paint for the results board. Thanks DC.
Thanks to all that turned up over the weekend including Steve A, DC, Niggs, Trekker, MartBoy, etc for a good constructive weekend.
Brookie - hope this post keeps you happy! For the record, it is absolutely chucking it down today. Popped to the track this morning and all is still up and undamaged/marked!
