Over here in NI the fuel is about £1.12/litre for petrol and 1.33/litre for diesel. Diesel is a lot more common here hence why its now more expensive.
A quick 9 mile drive and we can get diesel for £1.02/litre from the south, not sure what the petrol prices are over there.
