There's sooo many reasons but I just can't see it changing at the moment.
Years ago when my dad was racing Motocross, they tried to ban the sport then due to the usage of Fuel, but the organisers were quick to point out that the amount of fuel getting used every day/night & weekend for people to go Fishing far out-weighed any fuel that was getting used at all the motocross races going on at any weekend!
Travelling is a big issue - i just can't see anything being done about it though - petitions are always a good start!
