My major cut down will come this winter/next year when the twins are born.
I think I will just be doing regionals next year and possibly just worksop through the winter...if I can get away with it.
It's not too bad at the moment because my daughter is 6 and so can decide herself if she wants to come to meetings or not (I'll have the whole family with me at Tally-so it better be sunny).
Not being able to afford the outlay on a caravan (well, a decent one anyway) it will be a hotel job, and that will be the case for all the Nats. and that aint cheap, although when you add up the extra cost for fuel (pulling a 'van), food and everthing else that comes with camping then its probably not much different.
Fuel is the major outlay at the moment though, and until something is done about it, it could be the reason why a lot of people pack up.
But saying all that, its good to have 'me' time, and getting away for a days racing is great, even if the family comes too.
I can understand why people want to spend more time with the family when the kid/s come along, but it is a LOT of hard work and it wont be long until they are wanting free time to relax.
I actually loved going back to work when sophie was born because although work was hard, its not as hard as looking after kids and it was a relief to have time in someone elses company, even though it was only for half a day. When I say hard work looking after kids, I mean hard as in, tiring and exhausting, especially if they're not a child that likes to just sleep and eat........which ours wasn't! lol
1 hrs sleep per night for 2 yrs! takes its toll!!!

They're worth it though.
