For an absolute beginner who has nothing yet the B4 RTR deal is really good.
One of the guys in our club got one and is currently doing really well with it. It doesn't really need any hop-ups either to be competitive.
Another great thing about it is that you can find setups by the dozen online and there will usually be someone trackside who can help you out with advice or parts
