ok, Im too slow, you had a couple of answers to this already !)
EF-S lenses only fit digital cameras with cropped sensors / are specifically designed for the smaller non full frame sensor. However you still have to multiply the quoted zoom by 1.6 to give the equivelant focal lenght.
Ive had an EFS 17-85 IS on my 20d for nearly 4 years. Turns your SLR into a great walk arround / travel camera and can take a nice picture but it is limiting in creative and low light action photography.
Its nice to have the wide angle though.

I am thinking of either the 400D or 450D with the 18-55 lense and then getting one of these 55-200mm lenses. Is that a better choice than 75-300?
