This is my best friend.

I got him when he was about 5 months, although the resuce shelter thought he was older due to his size. In that time he had been abandoned and left to die, resuced and re-homed not once but 3 times! Each time he was taken back to the shelter due to being "too agressive to manage".

I happened across him on one of my weekly visits to the pound, I go to play with the dogs they describe as "dangerous" as I have had prison dog handling training and hold a dangerous breeds handling / breeding / training licence.
I was told in no uncertain terms that he was too much, even for somebody with my background, and would have to live out his days as a cage dog only to be handled when people like myself go to the pound to work with them (about 2 hours a week per dog for those that don't know).

At the time I'd just moved to Cheltenham and had no dog of my own as I'd left my dog with my mother as he'd got used to that after the 4.5 years I'd been working / living in London. He is also a rescue "no hoper".

I've had him for about 5 years now, the first 6 months were really dificult as he was very difficult to bond with and you need to do that before you can do any effective training, especially behaviour corrections.

Well I had to have a go with him because there was something about his eyes which drew me in, he was such a cute puppy and has grown in to a handsome (if some what hefty hound ..... 45kgs at the last weigh in).

Now I have forgoten all the bites, cuts and scratches as he is just a great dog to be around. He's so gentle now we have no fear leaving him with small children and other dogs ..... but not cats or birds.

I prefer dogs to people really as they never back-stab, let you down and you can always tell what they are thinking (it's all in the wag!!!)

Mrs TeamExtreme ..... please post pics of the litter when you can, nothing on this earth as cute as new born pups.
