Until i got my ZX5-SP this April, I haven't driven a buggy for more than a decade. The only thing I did so far to the kit setup was changing the rear shock oil to 35wt. The car is a dream to build and a dream to drive from the box (that was what the question was about, eh?).
apart from that, it seems to be nearly bullet proof. Although I claim to have been the worst driver at the two meetings I attended so far, and abused the poor little Lazer very much, only one ugly landing proved to be fatal so far. Full speed upside down landding on the front shock tower - put the car on its wheels again, and off you go!
I think every other car around had issues at less extreme circumstances (B44, X11, X-5, 501X, BJ4, BJ4, BJ4 - what material is used for those suspension arms?!)
