What pinion/spur is that?
The GTB thermals at 200degrees F, and even then it only shuts down for a few seconds with no lasting damage. So it gets pretty hot. What I am saying is, there may be no need to even worry.
The options available to you, are check on the gearing (as on overgeared brushless is not as obvious due to the torque). Install a fan which you can attach to the chassis blowing accross the GTB, or open up the shell for ventilation, or its possible that what you think is hot is actually fine and it can be left as it is.
If you have a temp probe, let us know how hot it gets after a 5 minute race.
