I am running 8.5 with 20 pinion (i was running 21 but was getting too hot) with 21 pinion i was getting around 160 f temps and thats only running 5 minutes moderate)

I built mine per the Team-Durango.com blog and i never had any issues. My only complaint is that some of the pins did not have the little nudge so i had to file it my self but not a big deal.
