mini 8 motor size?

What size is the mini 8 motor? I wanna say 380.... I'm just not sure. Is there any one running non stock motors in there M8? What are you running?

size and rpm are total different things.
If you're looking for a brushed one there are some 380's in the discount section of the lrp online shop. Real cheap but shipping is pricey

yeah, I was looking for a brushless set up, maybe the novak mongoose 10.5t as they no longer make the 8.5t. I was just unsure of the can size. I was hoping to find a censored set up to get rid of the clogging of the kit esc.

Novak three80 is the only sensored micro motor AFAIK.

If you are getting cogging you have something wrong, M8 speedo should be as close to cog free as you'll get, I've had sensored speedos in my 10th cars that cog worse.

I have heard rumours of a Losi 6000 Kv motor, though I don't know if/when this will be available.

Maybe search by size ie. 24mm diameter up to 28mm dia and upto 35mm long?

Don't forget the bigger the diameter the more torque they will produce so you can get away with lower Kv motor with a much bigger gear ratio.

28mm x 35mm 3900kv/3950Kv is a good motor and would be quicker than the kit motor.

You need to do some searching though as these motors are tough to find, especially in the UK, but they are out there.

The 28mm motors also require some modification to the motor mount to allow you to fit a much larger pinion than the stock motor. I'm running a 58t spur and a 23t pinion (tamiya) You'll need to cut a hole in the bottom of the chassis to allow it to fit correctly. They are really good motors though, loads of torque over the stock 4500kv.

The novak system has been ace for me, its really smooth and the power in the straights is pretty amazing.
