Reinforced X2C
 

After having some increased flex in the chassis, plastic aging alittle and rear section screw holes not great anymore I decided to try and brace the rear end alittle. I shamelessly tried to base it on the C4.1 idea and below is design no.1

Its a spare adjustable turnbuckle with a ballcup one end and a suspension lower mount on the other. The bottom of the battery strap has some foam padding to stop the bolt head coming into contact with the battery packs. The arm is offset slightly so the bolt head is central between the two saddles.

So far certainly seems to be happier over jumps and more consistent feedback. Will see how it holds up racing over the next few weeks.

I would ideally like to start removing material from the new battery strap as its too large at the moment but want to retain as much strength as possible. :thumbsup:

Looks good dude. Do you think it might benefit from using screws instead of the clips to hold the plate on, a bit like the x6squared/ cougar sv2 centro etc. That would make it uber stiff :thumbsup:

Might have a go at that to mine as well but i`d use a countersunk screw on the battery holder for a flush fit.

Robbie, I would like to once the design is finalised, its just finding the right ones. I wanted to use Schuhmacher ones if poss but not sure if they have the length .....

Have tried a countersunk screw but the carbon material i am using is quite thin, only slighlty thicker than the standard battery plate. If I can get a small enough amount out then will definately look into it :thumbsup:
