No Idea what SC to buy..advice
I have the elctronics laying around so a cheap (under £150) SC 2wd advice would be appreciated. The cheaper the better. Just for a little comp use
JE spares are doing Ansmann 1/10 2WD Short Course Kit for 69.99? But not sure on the specs and if it requires upgrading (like ball-bearings) Really the cheaper the better Any ideas people THanks |
That one is very bargain basement. For an extra £10 you can get this:
http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ansmann-...&ChassisID=944 Comes with Aluminium schocks, slipper clutch, CVDs etc. Just got one myself - quality piece of kit |
The cheap Ansmann JE Spares have for that price is not a proper sized SCT, it is a lot shorter and wider, basically a stadium truck with a jelly mould body on it to look like an SCT
It won't have bearings or turnbuckles either and has cheap plastic shocks which tbh don't last long before they fall apart everytime you use it. Alright for a basher but not if you are going to race it. The Ansmann C.O.R.E is a proper sized truck and are very good, same issue with plastic shocks, turnbuckles and bearings though. I run a Losi XXX-SCT, can be had as a race roller for your budget and is as good as the current competition, got a few at our club in standard form and they seem to be the strongest of the lot too. You can find bargain deals on HPI Blitz ESE's and AE SC10 FT's for that money if you search around. |

Yes the X2SC is the full sized version. The SC2 is the smaller version.

Chris slipped in with the X2SC which is a full sized proper SCT with bearings and all the nice goodies already on it, plus a clear bodyshell... well worth buying for racing with  |

Since there seem to be a few Ansmann-size experts in here - is the X4SC also the correct size for 4wd short course racing? Because that is another very tempting deal.

As for hopups they are pretty sorted straight out of the box. Only thing I would look at would be to get the alloy rear pivot blocks as they are a bit of a weak point. For set-ups: http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85553 and more here: http://www.petitrc.com/setup/ansmann...smannX2SC.html |

Just had it delivered from modelsport with some fastrax inserts and mini spikes. Very happy. Super quick service from modelsport- ordered 3pm delivered 12pm
Got an Lrp 8.5 Got a Lrp tc v1 esc Just need a cheap servo. Any recommendations? Thanks |
8.5T motor is fine, will be quick but you may need to add some weight around front end/servo area to help balance it!
i've got 60g on the nose of my SCT... tbh all of the 2WD SCT's i've raced have needed this at least IMO. servo wise, i use one of these: http://shop.a1hobbiesltd.com/index.p...product_id=771 was only a temporary cheapy to get truck on track asap whilst i waited for a Savox, but can't fault it, is metal geared, has taken lots of abuse, plenty quick enough and never let me down, so well recommended. |
