BALL Studs

What track rod ends are you guys fitting as the Current kit ones seem to pop off to easy on indoor racing.

I here people are running rpm ones ?? What part numbers are these please ?

GrahamH7060 17-04-2012 09:47 PM

JE Spares sell them, search for RPM , they're 4-40 heavy duty rod ends , available in black, blue, yellow & white
I run them with Schumacher ball studs on a very bumpy grass track , and haven't had one pop off yet !!

GrahamH7060 17-04-2012 10:11 PM

Oh , just make sure you get the "long shank" ones !!

I just use the normal HD ones and kit ball ends, don't have any problems with them.

Probably cursed myself for saying that now:lol:

likewise. obviously if you're bashing into track markers they will pop off, but otherwise it rarely happens.

Theres a few different options i went with:

HPI Cyclone balls
LOSIHD Cups

but im using losi 22 rods as well.. (thats what i had spare)

some people run Schumacher Grippa (i think)
theres another thread on with all the info, have a search?

av4625 18-04-2012 08:51 PM

i went with rpm long shank cups and associated ball studs

stephenh 19-04-2012 02:17 PM

I am running the SC10 ball cups connected the Hobao 8th scale turnbuckles with Associated HD Ti nitrate ball studs.
The thing is like a tank on steroids, no mission of anything coming away. Plus the ball cups spins nice and free on the studs despite the tight fit
If you wanna see pics to see how it looks i can post.
