Motor an Esc

new to RC racing an looking for advice on getting the above, originally bought an ezrun 9t with 60a esc, the esc is fine but the main shaft has come loose out of the motor an i can now pull it out  not sure if its cos its a reasonably cheap motor but now looking for something that may last a lot longer then 3 weeks. As im new i dont want to spend mega bucks but dont mind paying a little extra if it'll last

You've either greatly overheated the motor or been unlucky if the rotor has de-bonded from the shaft.

Most people on oople are racers and run sensored systems, which are more expensive for a race-ready motor and ESC. The EZrun is one of the better inexpensive sensorless systems, so you can either buy another one of their motors and hope for a better life out of it, or upgrade to sensored.

is there any way to try an combat the over heating?

First of all, check that the car rolls freely when you have the motor out of the car. You don't want any binding in the bearings etc., and you need to make sure that the pinion/spur mesh is not too tight either.

If the car rolls freely, gear down a little. So a smaller pinion or a larger spur gear.

Ventilation helps too. if the body has a slot that you can cut out, cut it - although if you are racing at a BRCA meeting you need to check the rules about the size of the holes you can cut.

It doesn't sound like you would be overgeared - easiest way to check motor temps is just with a finger on the can and if you can't hold it on there for more than a couple of seconds then you are running a bit hot.

Check the transmission and your gear mesh, but it sounds more likely that you just got unlucky, and a new motor should be fine.
