Opinions on B4 carbon bits

What are peoples thoughts on the B4 carbon parts, specicially around Eden Park? Managed to get through 2 rear shock towers in 1 afternoon! Are the plastic ones more forgiving? The tracks looking really great by the way everyone, always amazed to see what pops up from week to week

mine snapped coming over the big tablwetop and landing awkwardly on rear left wheel

since then i have gone back to normal plastic ones with no probs whatsoever

I think most of the pro's now run plastic bits don't they? I ended up with a bunch of carbon bits and so far they have held up really well. I snapped a front wishbone today in the strangest, slowest smallest tap you'd ever seen but before that I was hammering around the track for 30mins absolutely flying, jumping and rolling with no breakages.

Depends on what you mean 'carbon parts'. I've bust both AE carbon and plastic rear towers - like Martin says, the table top is unforgiving if you get it wrong. The AE plastic parts are not a great deal more resilient than the FT carbon parts in this respect.
I upgraded to K factory front and rear towers and even managed to bend the rear 4mm carbon tower:woot:

EPR is a tough track but that's just one of its attractions.

Word of warning for the K-Factory rear tower - it's really really strong but for some reason, the upper shock positions are about 4mm higher than the stock tower which means your rear droop will get messed up unless you can make your rear shocks 4mm longer. I fitted some longer ball ends at the bottom of the shocks to accommodate the shock tower until I broke it.
It's a great tower - just watch out for the lack of rear droop cos the car don't jump well without it:woot:

this is true mr dog!(Andy)

the front is tough as nails, not a single problem with it,not once but the rear however must be either a lower grade of carbon fibre or something as mine bent too.

so i bent it back, but then it bent again so i changed back to plastic shock tower and hasnt been a problem at all

the gtb went in today and took around track

what a change, sooo much better no more giving my motor to mr Brooke for skimming!!

i also sort of understood how to clear the table top (it helps alot wit the novak power) but basically full throttle up to jump and take finger of into neutral just before entry of ramp,it glides perfectly then lands (sometimes anyway)!

Also learnt that buying 9 pound lipos from japan really really arent safe adn wouldnt advise buying as it melted the casing and puffed out!! this was only after about 5-10 mins of running it in the mamba powered xxx4

so back to conventional 4200s for now

now that ive started rambling www.rcmart.com are doing 30, YES 30 single cell intellect 4200mah 1.2v with FREE ESC,battery jig and stickers for 147.99 USD,

Thats around 70-80 pounds plus about 15 for delivery, thats 6 cells for the price of two!! and no theres no inport charge! check it out!!

thankyou oople for letting me talk out loud to a computer screen!

well i have idea. if your find one made of a softer plastic then it would help because they tend to flex rather then break as i have noticed on my kyosho zaboon which was quite good at absorbing hits very well as most of its made of soft plastic specily from b4s like at last meeting:thumbsup:

Thanks guys yup sounds like plastic might be the way to go for the time being. Yeah it was the table top that did it & the time it broke was actually a pretty good landing I thought, but it had taken a few knocks earlier on I guess. Broke another one trying to run an "oval" type course, bounced & flipped on the "straight" right in front of the rostrum, landed upside down & spent another £9 doh! Now I see why we dont run that part of the track in any of the layouts
