personal transponders
 

Havnt been involved in rc for a years, but i thought it was about time to dust down the gear and get active again.

I visit my local club have a chat with a few people and discover that they are now using personal transponders and that the club has a few club loan outs but i'd be better off getting my own.

get home search the internet and find the well known supplier of transponders..................omfg !!! ....£72 ....u gotta be joking!

now i know technology costs .....but seriously ....thats more than i paid for my motor/ speedo combo....or ....my radio equipement or batteries.

the web site says 200 000 in circulation ....they never heard of mass production....or even China to get cost down.?

what alternatives are there to the well known brand?

There's these guys mate. The MRT transponder is a clone of the AMB/Harry PT. It comes preloaded with 20 numbers, if you clash with someone else's number you can switch numbers. The AMB/Harry PT is only one number.

Been running 2 mrt transponders for 3 years now and had no issues

I havn't had a number clash as of yet either :-)

And like already mentioned there are 21 numbers in a mrt so it's never a problem.

They are also smaller as well.

Where is the best place to buy one of these at the moment? Demon RC products are out of stock and the only other place I can find is this ebay shop:
