Servo always sounds as though under load

the ko 2343 in my xx4 always sounds as though its under load even though it isnt. when i do apply left or right when it centres it does so with a judder...

ive dialed out servo trim and that takes out some of the load but still have judder... any ideas?

Try a power capacitor plugged in receiver/soldered to servo wires and/or look for any binding in steering (remove servo and see if steering moves freely)

good tip re the binding cheers... i wonder re the capacitor as the 2343 was not one of the models that came supplied with one originally - would a retrofit be a normal upgrade in these circumstances?

2343 is a digital servo. Digital servos often sound like they are loaded when at neutral - as in reality they are loaded. Digital servos are always looking for the exact position - but they basically don't ever get there - so they are always hunting either side of the desired position.

I wouldn't worry unless it is really straining, if it's humming, then i'd say it's normal. The judder likely suggests worn gears, as this is another example of it hunting for position.
