Windows 7/Network God/Mikey Scott?

Hi Guys,

Last night we had issues running the MyLaps decoder via the ethernet port, and a wireless dongle at the same time. With the decoder unplugged we could get onto the net via the wireless dongle, but then if we plugged the decoder in, we could not the find the decoder.

If we had the decoder running, and then attempted to connect the wireless donge the the dongle/software (3 Network) would freeze.

We used it for the first time last week and have not changed and anything on the laptop, and only used it at home on a wireless network.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Maybe com port related?

Can you change the COM ports?

Sorry, I was wrong....

We ran a similar setup at area 51 and it seemed to work ok.

I would start by statically assigning the IP details on the ethernet port (connected to the decoder) and not assigning a default gateway, seeing as its not required for what you're doing.

USB is another idea, although i prefer to run it by ethernet to be honest as it will be more reliable.

Yuo can set the ip address to be static on the decoder. I think if you don't it automatically assigns itself and conflicts with the dongle. Want to get it working myself for the regionals this summer
