REmoving rust from rc bits

Got a vintage project I am plannIng to restore...the kit is generally intact except for rust in some of the screws, shafts etc...

What to you guys use to treat rust? I have read oxalic acid is good stuff. I don't want to be too abrasive either!

Thanks

I soak nut/bolts etc in GT85 spray and clean off with wire wool and then re apply to keep the rust away once fitted.

i put my parts that have a bit of rust on them into a sandwich bag and liberaly spray with W5 silicone oil and seal bag and roll around the parts in the oil, then leave for 24 hrs,
if too bad i too use wire wool or a wire wool attachment on my dremel, then spray with the silicone oil

i use wd40 and then use brillo to clean it off.then i spray wd40 onto a cloth and wipe the part that has rust over it.

I have heard if you leave them in coke overnight that works well.
