What brand of pinions do you use?

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a lot of pinions
but what brand should I take?

I want something that's cheap but still good quality…

Any advice??

Thanks

+1 RW pinions. Do exactly as needed without costing the earth. Lots of places sell them online ranging from £3 to £5

don't bother with the alloy ones as a tiny piece of sand chews them up.

RW are really well made with good tooth forms, round and good surface finish. Don't skimp on pinions, it will only cost you more spur gears in the long run due to bad tooth forms and poor surface finish causing excess wear. RW should be the pinion of choice at any price. HTH :)

Agreed, I've got RW pinions which are over 10 years old and still use them! This is the reason we chose them as the only pinion to stock, as we trust the quality.

You won't get better..

I have a set of RW - but I also have a set of Kinwald Pinions, not sure if you can still buy them though?
They are lighter than the RW but still very hard - bigger grub threads too, I only use an RW if I don't have Kinwald pinion of that size with me (on another car etc.)
