Orion vortex R10

Hi, anyone had any problems with communications between set up box and speedo? Up until now they've been fine but today it wouldn't work. I have tried both speedos they are both the same. I tried changing the sensor cable and nothing.

It seems to know its there but doesn't want to talk.

Any ideas guys?

Dave

Have you tried disconnecting the sensor wire from the speedo that connects to the motor. Doesn't work unless it's disconnected, bit of a pain but I couldn't get it to work and realised that was the problem, which means its not a quick job to alter settings if motor sensor wire isn't easily accessible :-(

I have heard reset your endpoints, rebind the transmitter, resetup ESC.

I personally haven't had any problems, super kit.

Mark- didn't try that as its worked fine up until today and I've had both since September but I will try it.

Mike- I know what your saying but its not like it's just been set up. I've been using them for a while and it's the fact that both have went the at the same time.

I will try this, thanks guys

Perhaps the set up box is the one with the problem, do you know anyone with another to try and eliminate it?

I will try and update all today and see if that works.

Thanks guys

If your passing by this week you can always pop in for a coffee and try my program box, it's running latest software, not sure if there would be any problems with older firmware versions.

Thanks Derek but I really don't fancy trying your program box!:eh?:

Cheers, I may do that but I will update all three today and see if that helps first. Don't understand it, it was all fine until yesterday.

Hi Mark

Tried what you said and it worked. Disconnected it from the motor and not the speedo so it wasn't too bad a job.

I'm starting to think its maybe the type of motor. I've only just changed from Speedpassion to HPI and as I said, i had no issues before. Sounds weird I know, but it's all I can think of.

Thanks for your help guys.

Dave

I can tell you that currently some motors need to be disconnected at the sensor lead in order for the setup box to work. I've found using Orion motors it all works fine but other motor makes can cause this. Simply disconnect at the motor sensor port and it'll work normally. There is I'm told a firmware update coming which will rectify this small issue. Hope this helps.

The firmware update is out on Orion's site.
I updated to it, but haven't yet tested...
